Getting summer ready

Summer is fast approaching (I know, it doesn’t feel like it) and if your anything like me you will now be panicking that you haven’t done quite as much as you’d hoped in order to achieve your dream summer body! – I’m sat here with a brew and 3 biscuits whilst I write this *ahem*.  So although the chances of me baring all in a bikini may be slim, I still like to do the “summer prep” in order to try and feel my very best whilst enjoying the sunshine.

Here are my favourite summer beauty must haves for this season:

Rimmel “Peachella” nail varnish

What is it about having your fingernails and toenails freshly painted that makes you feel instantly groomed? I love having mine done and this Rimmel shade by Rita Ora is a perfect summer colour. It drys really shiney giving it a gloss/gel effect.

Marc Jacobs “Daisy” perfume

I love this scent. It’s so light and smells really floral for the summer months. I swap and change my perfumes all the time but this is my favourite at the minute. Plus the bottle has 3D flowers on it so looks really pretty on your dressing table. What more could you want?!

Garnier summer body moisturising lotion

I’m not a fan of fake tan as I genuinely don’t have the time to apply it plus I’m rubbish at doing it so would end up looking really patchy and streaky so I opt for a moisturing lotion with a hint of self tan in it. This is really quick and easy to apply and stops me from looking like a ghost when I brave the shorts! I go for a light sunkissed look rather than the darker shades as I’m only fair.

Garnier Nutrisse hair colour – 10.01 Natural baby blonde

hair colour

I have my hair cut at the salon every 8 weeks but I do my own hair colour to save some pennies. I usually use a natural blonde which is a bit darker but these last few months I’ve opted for the natural baby blonde to lighten my hair up for the summer. (It’s a pity you don’t look like Holly Willoughby after you’ve applied it, but hey ho!)

Collection speedy highlighter

I only discovered this highlighter a few months ago whilst walking round the supermarket and I’m not kidding when I say it’s the best highlighter I’ve ever used!!! I’ve had some really high end make up which hasn’t done half as well as this product and it’s less than £5!!! It comes as a chubby stick and you just rub it on your face in the areas you want highlighting and voila!- A healthy glow is all yours!

So, there we have my summer beauty must haves! Do you have any summer products that you can’t live without?

I’d love to hear from you!
